Ards House is a family-run guest house located in the picturesque village of Connel on Scotland’s west coast, just a few miles from Oban. Set on the shores of the Firth of Lorn, it offers stunning panoramic views of the sea, surrounding mountains, and distant islands.
Ards House is a traditional Victorian villa that retains much of its original charm, warmth, and character. We offer eight guest rooms: six doubles, one twin—all with en-suite facilities—and one single room. A spacious guest car park is conveniently located just across the road, right on the shores of the Firth of Lorn. This scenic spot is a favourite among our guests for unwinding and taking in the breathtaking sunsets. It’s not uncommon to spot sea otters, seals, and a variety of birdlife along the shoreline.
We are nestled in the charming village of Connel, just a short stroll from local bars and restaurants, a village shop, church, train station, and bus stops. Only five miles away lies the bustling town of Oban—renowned for its fresh seafood and as a gateway to the stunning Scottish islands, with regular ferry services. Our location is perfect for exploring the west coast of Scotland, offering a wealth of historic sites, breathtaking scenery, and an abundance of magnificent wildlife.
